Rome 2 Amalfi Coast Motorcycle Tour Oct 2026

The Amalfi Coast Motorcycle Tour in October 2026 is a guided motorcycle tour through southern Italy, combining coastal riding, mountain roads, and beautiful historic villages. Starting in Rome, this tour is designed for experienced riders who want dramatic scenery, technical roads, and authentic Italian culture during one of the best riding months of the year.

We’ll start with a delicious dinner in the capital of the old Empire, the mythical Rome, then via hills and shore reach one of the most famous live volcanos of Europe, the iconic Vesuvius. From there we’ll commence a real discovery of the extraordinary Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, and the beautiful Cilento National Park, before a final celebratory night in bustling Naples. Finally, we’ll blast back to Rome and fly home with memories to be cherished forever. Don’t be fooled by the kilometre count, this is a very entertaining trip filled with countless twisty roads, plenty stops for delicious food and wine, heritage and culture, and of course beautiful hotels and swimming.

As for all our tours, you can choose to follow the tour leader, or ride independently with our provided maps (and catch up with the group at the marvellous spots we plotted).

Tour Plan

DAY 1 (07/10): ‘WELCOME TO ROME’

Airport pickup - hotel check in – registration and tour briefing - motorcycle pickup – walk and aperitivo in Rome – dinner and rest.

DAY 2 (08/10) 300 km: ‘ROME TO VESUVIUS’

We’ll leave the city passing by the famous Colli Romani, then continue through the fabulous Lazio natural parks all the way to a lazy fish lunch on the coast. A sharpening of the senses with an espresso, and we’ll take on the last 200km fast along the coast until hour hotel at the feet of the Vesuvio. Authentic Neapolitan pizza dinner!

DAY 3 (09/10) 100 km: ‘THE AMALFI COAST’

A few kilometres via Herculaneum and Pompei and we’ll soon hit the first of the incredible panoramic roads overlooking the stunning and dramatic peninsula. Reaching Sorrento, we’ll continue to a ‘secret’ historical location on the peninsula for a dip in one of the most incredible swim spots. Refreshed and energised, we’ll be ready to take on the thrilling Amalfi coast for a truly brilliant ride with postcard views of the peninsula. We’ll lunch overlooking the sea, and then ride by Positano, Amalfi (perfect for ice cream and coffee stop), and finally reach our hotel on the lush coast.

DAY 4 (10/10) 210 km: ‘THE WILD CILENTO ROUTE’

We’ll leave the dreamy coast and head for the wild mountains of the Cilento National Park (UNESCO heritage site); little clogged by the masses of international tourists, and yet a fantastic example of the beauty of mother nature and history of humankind. From hills filled with olive trees to forests, and from old towns clinging onto rocks to churches dug into the mountain, you’ll experience Italy like you’ve never before (there will be several unique optional stops off the beaten tracks!). After an original lunch in the mountains, we’ll descend to the coast again to end our day atop the mythical Castellabbate, overlooking the beautiful Cilento bay.

DAY 5 (11/10) 150 km: ‘ROAD TO NEAPOLIS’

Down from Castellabbate, we’ll ride by the incredible ruins of the Greek city Poseidonia, home to one of the two best preserved Greek temples in the world, then head for a snack and full immersion into the world of mozzarella at one of the best producers of the region. Back on the Amalfi coast, we’ll split the peninsula climbing the exciting twisty road to the top of Monte Faito. A traditional lunch atop the mountain overlooking Gragnano (world famous for its bronze die slow dry wheat pasta and sparkly red wine), and then we’ll head back to Naples to celebrate the end of our journey with an aperitivo and the most authentic Neapolitan pizza this city has to offer.

FAQ

Q: What is the weather like on the Amalfi Coast in October?

  • A: It is often the best time of year to ride. Expect temperatures around 20-23°C (68-73°F). The summer heat haze has cleared, providing crystal-clear views of the Mediterranean, thr sea is still warm to swim, and the roads are far less congested than in May or June.

Q: Are the hotels and restaurants still open in late October?

  • A: Yes. We specifically curate our "Endless Summer" tours to visit authentic borgos and boutique hotels that remain vibrant and welcoming through the autumn season.

Q: Can I ride independently on this tour?

  • A: Absolutely. October’s quieter roads make independent navigation via our provided GPS files even more relaxing. You get the freedom of the road with the security of our support van nearby.

Q: Should I bring my own bike or rent for this October trip?

  • A: Both are great options. If you are coming from Northern Europe, renting one of our premium Ducatis or BMWs allows you to fly in and start riding immediately, but we fully support "own-bike" riders who want one last epic tour before winter.
