Sardinia Endless Summer motorcycle tour 2026

The Sardinia Endless Summer Motorcycle Tour 2026 is an immersive 7-day guided motorcycle adventure from Rome to Sardinia and back, featuring smooth mountain and coastal roads, swims at scenic beaches, historic sites, and authentic local cuisine. With easy-to-medium daily riding and warm September weather, this tour is ideal for riders seeking a balanced mix of spirited riding and cultural experiences.

By September, the holiday crowds have thinned and the scorching heat has eased, creating the perfect window for us—and our motorcycles—to savour the last days of summer while enjoying every twist and turn along the way. After Rome, we’ll ferry across to the island of unspoiled nature and millenary traditions for an authentic discovery of its most stunning and, at times, remote corners: from mountain roads immersed in fragrant Mediterranean vegetation with granite formations towering on one side and breath-taking vistas on the other, to coastal stretches alongside white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. Expect sensational riding, warm hospitality, beautiful hotels, dreamy swims, quaint towns, fun waiters, and plenty of laughs. And of course, no journey to Sardinia would be complete without indulging in local delicacies like suckling pig (sometimes cooked buried underground), fresh seafood, and the ever-assured Sardinian cheeses. From start to finish, this tour will be a feast for the senses, leaving us with memories to be cherished forever.

Tour Plan

DAY 1 (22/09) 120 km: ‘ARRIVAL TO ROME + WARM UP RIDE’

Meet the team and motorcycle pickup (3pm) – tour briefing - sunset ride through the old roman Empire hills and Natural park Bracciano Mertigliano – dinner by the sea – overnight ferry to Sardinia.

DAY 2 (23/09) 230 km: ‘GALLURA AND THE SARDINIAN HEART’

Docking in Olbia at sunrise, we will enjoy a ride of the city and an Italian breakfast before heading west into the heart of the Gallura region. We’ll ride by vineyards and ancient forests of centenary oaks famous for their bark, then move towards the centre of the island through forgotten routes populated by countless mythological Nuraghe (ancient stone structures dating back to 1900 BC), before finally reaching our destination on the coast for a well-deserved aperitivo, dinner and rest.

DAY 3 (24/09) 210 km: ‘THE OLD MINING ROUTE’

After a delicious breakfast and a short 80km ride along the eastern coast, we will reach the quartz beach of Is Arutas for our first beautiful swim of the trip. Regenerated and energised, we’ll ride south into to the Costa Verde, not only beautiful for its natural landscapes, but also incredible for its Industrial archaeology. A quick visit of one of the most ancient and spectacular mining sites of Italy, and we’ll pick up the pace on the incredible panoramic road hanging off the coastal cliffs, stopping to marvel at the famous ‘Pan di Zucchero’ (the highest sea rock of Europe) and finally arrive to our hotel for the night.

DAY 4 (25/09) 220 km: ‘COSTA VERDE TO COSTA REI’

This will be a glorious day of leisurely riding along the bendy costal roads of the south while discovering its many beaches, eating ice creams, swimming at the southernmost tip of the island, stopping for lunch on Cagliari beach il Poetto, and then continue on more exciting roads to the fabulous Villa Simius and costa Rei on the east coast.

DAY 5 (26/09) 180 km: ‘THE RIDER’S PLAYGROUND’

Refreshed and relaxed from the ‘beach life’ of the previous day, we’ll then tackle one of the most exciting and fast roads of the island, an absolute dream for both fast and slower riders, the SS125 leading to the National Park of the Golfo di Orosei. This extraordinary road will take us north onto the mountains, and then back to the wild beach of Cea, where we’ll stop for a cooling swim and an amazing fish lunch. Back on the road, we’ll climb back up into the beautiful Supramonte Mountain range to enjoy once again wonderful endless sceneries of valleys and peaks, before setting our helmets in the mountains.

DAY 6 (27/09) 195 km: ‘RETURN TO ETERNAL CITY’

On our final riding day, we’ll ride more of the scenic mountain roads all the way to Olbia where we’ll catch our ferry back to mainland Italy. A few hours of relaxation and sunbathing on the deck (or celebrating?) will set the tone for our last stretch from Civitavecchia to the majestic city of Rome. We’ll enjoy a memorable night ride into town, check into our hotel, and then head out for a well-deserved dinner party to cap off our journey in style.

FAQ

Q: How do we get to the island?

  • A: We take the overnight ferry from the mainland. This is a classic part of the adventure; your luggage stays in our support van, and you enjoy a cabin on the ship, arriving refreshed and ready to ride in Sardinia the next morning.

Q: Why is Sardinia considered a "Motorcycle Mecca"?

  • A: The island is famous for its abrasive, high-grip asphalt and roads that were built for curves, not efficiency. With very little traffic in September, it is the ultimate playground for spirited riding.

Q: Is this tour suitable for those riding independently?

  • A: Yes. Sardinia can be a maze, but we provide expert-vetted GPX files that ensure you don't miss the hidden coastal viewpoints, even if you choose to ride solo away from the group.

Q: What is the weather like in late September?

  • A: We call it "Endless Summer" for a reason. Temperatures are usually a perfect 22°C to 26°C, and the sea is still warm enough for a swim at the end of the day.
